We went to our friend Elias' birthday party and rode ponies. Megan was so excited she got off and said momma I don't want a dog anymore, I want a horse. Oh No. I don't the Home Owners Association would be pleased nor the neighbors. We did have an amazing time today.

Megan doing it big at the VBS celebration... She couldn't go to VBS all week due to having her tonsils removed, but we made it to the party Friday.
Hanging out in the front yard after chasing rabbits. (Chasing rabbits is one of Megan's favorite activities, proving yet again that we made a good choice in moving back to MS. Megan's other redneck activities include, but aren't limited to: eating crawfish and crabs, playing "nudie" in the back yard, going potty in the back yard (approved by mom, NOT DAD), riding on the tractor with Pawpaw, feeding horses, riding with the top down and hands in the summer air, picking berries, and going shoeless when possible.)
Ava playing in the water at a recent small group get-together as we watched USM hand one to the Longhorns. Hook em' Horns? I really don't care. Would be nice to see SEC win it all. Go Tigers.

1/2 Marathon

We completed our 1/2 marathon this past weekend. Mary Evelyn finished in 2 hours 5 mins. I sped across the line with a lightning quick time of 2 hours 4 mins. (Actually, it seems kinda weak knowing that Mary Evelyn is pregnant and ran the same time.) We had a blast running. We were able to stay together through the first 11 miles and keep each other going. I'm not looking forward to training again, but I'm ready to run another one.

New York, NY

Thanks to Tanya's wonderful family, she was able to celebrate her twentieth (plus 10) birthday in New York with her mom, sister, granny, and other family friends. They stayed at the Crown Plaza while they were there. They saw shows, monuments, buildings, the works. Tanya said she had the total NY experience.

Trip to Lake Lowndes

This weekend we are staying in Columbus with Nana and Papa. On Saturday we decided to take the girls to Lake Lowndes to feed the ducks and play. Chris and I were able to go and sit at the table where he proposed. It seems like yesterday that we got engaged, but we have been married for 7.5 years. WOW!! Chris, I can't imagine my life without you. God has blessed me with the gift of an amazing husband and friend.

We attempted to feed the ducks, but they were snobby and wouldn't eat our bread. Instead we had Brinkley and Megan pose for a photo.

Aunt Meg and Megan raced Brinkley and me to the playground. Of course, Brinkley and I won, Brinkley weighs a little less than Megan.

Pumpkin Patch 2008

Can you tell which one is the child and which is the adult? I can't they are both kids, one just happens to be in a bigger body.

We had a huge group go to the pumpkin patch; Nana, Papa (thanks for driving to share this experience with the girls) Aunt Tasha (my sister), Aunt Desiree (my best friend from high school and junior college roommate), Brody (Desiree's beautiful little boy), Aunt Meg, Uncle J, Brinkley, Mimi (Brinkley's Mimi), Pappy (Brinkley's Pappy) (Brinkley thanks for sharing your other grandparents. Megan thinks their her grandparents too and I don't know how to explain to her there not.

Megan Goes Bowling

Okay, well I can't really remember if it was at the end of August or in September, but we took Megan bowling. Aunt Meg, Uncle J, and Brinkley met us there. We had an amazing time. Megan is still a little young I guess to bowl because she couldn't roll the ball fast enough to always get it to the end of that SUPER long lane. One time she bowled and it stopped halfway down so Megan started running after it. Needless to say she ended up flat on her back side because the lanes are polished. We laughed so hard!!

August Trip to the MS Gulf Coast

On Sunday we went to the beach, so Megan could feed the sea gulls. I don't get it. I can never remember dad taking me to the beach just to feed the birds. I guess grandchildren have some kind of magical force over their grandparents.

We went to the Ms Gulf Coast the weekend before school started to go to a to the Fly Family reunion. It was great to see everyone, especially some familar faces from CO. After the reunion we went to visit Paw Paw Riley. He took us out to dinner at Tarantos, yumm!! Megan ate snow crab legs and Dungeoneus crab. She will eat anything her Paw Paw eats.

Summer Vacation 08

We are having an enjoyable summer break. On Father's Day weekend, we went to Nana and Papa's house. After that we traveled down south to see Mimi and Paw-Paw. We also spent a few days in New Orleans. We went to the zoo and the aquarium while we were there. Here are a few pics. I will put aquarium pics in later.

Now most of you might see a safety light on a wall, but Megan sees something else. As we were walking back to our car in the parking garage, Megan looked up, pointed, and said, "frog." I didn't know what she was talking about at first, but if you look at the light, it kinda looks like a frog's head and eyes. Kids are amazing.

I put Megan's hair in pig tails this morning and was very excited at how well they turned out so I wantedt to take her picture. Well, she started dancing and acting like a monkey. Chris and I have a total ham on our hands. I thought they were so cute that I couldn't help but to show them off. Where is our baby? What happended to her? She looks like a little girl.

Family Trip to Gatlinburg, TN

WOW!! What an amazing time we had in Gatlinburg, TN. We all took Granny and Paw Paw there for their 50 th wedding anniversary. It was awesome catching up with everyone and getting to know others better. (Donna, Little Jim, Big Jim, Granny, Paw Paw, Chris, Sarah, Aunt Tasha, Megan, Aunt Laurie, Mimi, and Aunt Tena) We missed you Dad and Andrew.

Hike to Laurel Falls

While we were in Gatlinburg we went on a short road trip. We hiked a mile and a half one way to Laurel Falls. I won't make the mistake of not taking the stroller again. I thought Megan would walk. Yeah, not a chance we carried her the entire way. We were exhausted by the time we were off that trail.

The whole family took my grandparents to Gatlinburg for their 50th anniversary. Everyone wanted to go shopping so we took Paw Paw to the aquarium. We had an awesome time. Megan was so excited about the fish.

Mother's Day Weekend

A Day at the Zoo

Here are some pics from Megan's first visit to the zoo. Dad didn't get to go, because he had class. Evidently Megan had a blast and she wasn't afraid of any of the animals. That's a good thing, because in a few short weeks she will be living in Mississippi near the Riley and Graves' families.
